Area Softball & Baseball Report From Tuesday Night

Tuesday night was a hectic night with a plethora of area teams in action. In a game heard on “Sunny” 99.7 and here on our website St. Edmond Softball got their 1st win of the year. Gaels topped Manson NW Webster on the road 16-8. St. Edmond scored 4 runs in the 3rd,5th and 7th innings and pounded out 21 hits. Ella Vratny the winning pitcher for St. Edmond, she also had 4 hits and 4 RBI’s at the plate. Gaels host Clarion_Goldfield-Dows Wednesday June 24th a 1:30 PM first pitch at Harlan Rogers.
Top ranked Fort Dodge Softball split a double header on the road with ranked opponent Ottumwa. Dodgers took the 1st game 3-2 and dropped a heart breaker 4-3 in 14 innings in the night cap. Dodgers left 20 runners on base in the 2nd game. Dodgers host Marshalltown Wednesday June 24th a 5 PM 1st pitch at Harlan Rogers,
St. Edmond baseball dropped their 1st game of the season falling to undefeated 8th ranked Pocahontas Area 4-0. Chase Cook 3 hits for Pocahontas Area. Jed Tracy with the lone hit for St. Edmond. The Gaels host Algona at Harlan Rogers Wednesday Night at 7:30. Iowa Falls Alden-Softball clipped Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 3-2.
Southeast Valley Softball and Baseball is at GTRA Wednesday Night. Fort Dodge Baseball at Mcneil Field hosting a “double dip” with Marshalltown Wednesday Evening. You can hear Rob Jones and Brian Peters on the call of both games starting at 5 PM on “Sunny” 99.7 and here on our website.
