The AP rankings for week 4 of Iowa High School Football are out and various teams in the listening area are in them. In Class 4A, Fort Dodge dropped out of the rankings following a week 3 loss to a ranked Ankeny squad, Dodgers were ranked 10th last week. In Class 3A Webster City is 3-0 and ranked 7th. Humboldt is in the others receiving votes category, those two teams will meet Friday Night in a battle of unbeaten teams.
In 1A, OABCIG maintains the top spot after winning their 1st 3 games in convincing fashiion. Their QB University Of Iowa commit Cooper Dejean has thrown for over 1,000 in the first 3 weeks of play. South Central Calhoun dropped one spot from #2 last week to #3 this week, despite impressive performances in wins in weeks 2 and 3. Emmetsburg sits at 3-0 and they are ranked #6, South Haimlton also is unbeaten and ranked 9th. Pocahontas Area is in the others receiving votes category, they have a chance to crack next week’s top 10 as they host South Central Calhoun Friday Night in a game you can hear on 105-9 “The Beach” and here on our website starting with the pregame show at 6:45 PM. The undefeated Southeast Valley Jags are also receiving votes.
In Class A the undefeated St. Edmond Gaels are receiving votes this week, they have a “measuring stick” game at 9th ranked West Hancock Friday Night. You can hear that game starting at 6:45 PM for the pregame show on “Sunny” 99.7 and here on our website.
In the 8 player class, Audubon remains #2 at 3-0, Newell-Fonda is unbeaten and ranked 7th, and Coon Rapids- Bayard is 3-0 and receiving votes this week.
