Arrests Made in Infant Homicide Investigation in Fort Dodge

A Fort Dodge couple at the center of a full scale homicide investigation involving a dead newborn in Fort Dodge have been arrested.

According to the Fort Dodge Police Department a warrant was issued for 24 year old Taylor Blaha and 31 year old Brandon Thoma earlier today and they are both in custody.

Both Blaha and Thoma are charged with Murder in the First Degree and Thoma faces an additional charge of abuse of a corpse.

Blaha is being held on a one million dollar cash only bond and Thoma is being held on a one million fifty thousand dollar cash only bond.

Over the past few weeks, investigators have continued to gather information, speak to witnesses, all while searching multiple locations throughout the Fort Dodge area in regard to this

investigation.

Thoma and Blaha are presumed innocent until proven guilty in

a court of law. Both are being held on cash bond until their initial appearance before the Webster County Magistrate.

Investigators are continuing to follow up on all credible leads and encourage anyone with

anonymously via Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers are still offering a $1,500.00 reward for

information leading to the discovery of the newborns body.
