Prevention department staff at Community and Family Resources are offering a free, nationally recognized alcohol beverage server training, Monday June 29TH from 9-11:30 AM at their new campus at 211 Ave M West behind Tom Thumb. The training is free to any Webster County business that serves alcohol. This is a skill-based training that will help lessen the chance of underage drinking, help prevent intoxication and legal problems, and help any business serve alcohol responsibly.

There are several benefits for any business that takes this brief training. First, it increases staff/volunteer professionalism leading to improved customer service and satisfaction. Second, it helps teach techniques to assess patrons in a short period of time which makes for a safer community. Third, it can help protect the hosting organization from alcohol liability lawsuits and decrease penalties for alcohol violations that may arise. Finally, it may lower dram shop liability rates when negotiated with an insurance agent.

To register for either date, contact Mickie Shubin, BA, CPS, and Certified TIPS trainer, 515-832-5432 ext. 1405 or email at [email protected] or Wayne Judkins at 515-509-7859 (cell) or email at [email protected].
