City Council Approves Stimulus Package 6-1, Halter Votes No

The Fort Dodge City Council met Monday night online and the biggest item on the agenda was an economic stimulus package. The plan includes a $25 one time reduction in the water bill for system customers in June, waving of parking fees downtown, and a reduction in the cost of building permits. The stimulus package passed the council 6-1, the one member opposed was Jeff Halter. He expressed why he voted against the package.

Councilman Terry Moehnke voted yes but did express concerns about waving the downtown parking fees. The stimulus package is a joint effort that was composed by Mayor Matt Bemrich and other city staff.
