Cop on a Rooftop Set for Friday Morning in Fort Dodge

Last year, Fort Dodge was number one in the state in raising money for the Special Olympics during the Cop on a Rooftop event and they are hoping to do the same tomorrow

The annual event at Dunkin’ Donuts is one that is held in cities across the country and for law enforcement in Fort Dodge it is one that they look forward to each year.

“It’s fun to go up on the roof of Dunkin’ and have these interactions with the different community members, Fort Dodge Chief of Police Dennis Quinn said.

He said this event is a positive way for the community to come together.

“Get out, meet with the public, talk to different people, form more relationships, I think it’s important because officers are people too. Besides the fact that we do this as our job, we raise our families here and that kind of community involvement is important.”

Last year, Chief Quinn says the Fort Dodge community contributed 3,708.51. 

Cop on a Roof Top will begin Friday morning in Fort Dodge at 6:00 am.
