Fort Dodge City Councilman Terry Moehnke was a guest on “Devine Intervention” with Mike Devine on KVFD AM 1400. He talked about the topic of the city allowing “urban deer hunting” to help cut down on the deer population.
A group of residents signed a petition that was presented at Monday’s Fort Dodge City Council meeting citing that deer are a public nuisance here in Fort Dodge. Moehnke says that the city acknowledges the nuisance but there are liability concerns for hunting within city limits.
he says if Fort Dodge allows “urban hunting” it wouldn’t be the only town in Iowa that has done so.
Mayor Matt Bemrich stated at Monday’s meeting that petition ” Is a good motivator”.
