Covid-19 Outbreak At Fort Dodge Correctional Facility

The governor has confirmed a coronavirus outbreak at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility .Nearly 500 inmates and staff have been tested for COVID-19 and on Tuesday prison officials reported 61 inmates and two staff members have the virus. Governor Reynolds says 600 inmates will be tested Wednesday and another 100 staff members will undergo testing Thursday. Here’s the Governor’s comments

There are 11-hundred prisoners in the facility on Tuesday. Last Thursday, just ONE inmate and two staff members had confirmed cases of COVID, so there’s been a dramatic increase in the past five days. As of Monday Webster County Public Health reported 39 confirmed cases of covid-19 at the prison.
