Covid-19 Outbreak Results In Lock Down Of Local Shelter

The Fort Dodge Messenger News is reporting that a Covid-19 outbreak has resulted in the lock down of a local shelter. Reportedly, seven men staying at Beacon Of Hope Shelter in Fort Dodge have tested positive for Covid-19 since the early part of Christmas week. The Director there announced Wednesday that the shelter is on lock down, not allowing residents out or people in. With around 30 men staying in the facility being able to keep appropriate social distance is a challenge. According to reports, those sick from the virus are isolated on a separate floor from the rest of the men staying there. The shelter plans to have everyone staying there tested in the immediate future. The lock down is expected to last at least two weeks.
