Dayton Man Arrested After Damaging Mayor’s Vehicle

A Dayton man was arrested Saturday on two counts of criminal mischief. The Dayton Police responded Saturday morning to a call that 52 year old Lawrence McCoy was allegedly standing on the roof of a vehicle owned by the Dayton Mayor. McCoy allegedly punched through the windshield of the vehicle as well. According to reports, McCoy then tried to break into a building at the Dayton Rodeo Arena but was unsuccessful. Officers later discovered damage at the Landus fertilizer plant near Dayton that allegedly was caused by McCoy.  The Webster County Sheriff’s Office apprehended McCoy and then took him to Trinity Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.
