Dodger Football Battles Powerhouse Dowling Catholic Thursday Night

Every competitive athlete has the desire to want to compete against the best available competition. It is an internal desire to want to know where they stand against the best in their respective field. Fort Dodge has that opportunity Thursday Night when they travel to take on Dowling Catholic. The Maroons are 4-1 this season after an early season less and are ranked in the top 5. Beyond that, they have won 7 straight Iowa State Titles dating back to 2013. That is the 2nd longest active state title streak in the U.S. behind Soldotna, Alaska who has 8. So that means Thursday Night at Valley Field in West Des Moines, Fort Dodge will get an opportunity that most high school football teams around the country don’t get. Coach Nik Moser has said this week the message is about being hungry coming off last week’s homecoming loss.

The Dodgers are 3-3 this year with those losses coming to all teams that are ranked and have a combined record of 16-2. Thursday Night will mark the 4th time in the 7 game regular season that Fort Dodge has faced a ranked opponent. Coach Moser says that tells you all you need to know about the strength of schedule.

Coach Moser knows his guys will need to be at their best tonight to compete against Dowling.

You can hear the game on “92 Rock”  starting with the pregame show at 6:45, kickoff is set for 7 PM.
