With baseball and softball seasons set to open around Iowa the week of June 15th, another school district has decided to sit this season out. The Eagle Grove School Board voted Tuesday not to play this summer. The cancellation passed the board 3-2 with Aaron Parrott, Elaine Schope and Darren Robinson as the members who voted against having a summer season. Wright County as of Tuesday had 188 confirmed covid-19 cases with over 80% of those cases being confirmed in the last two weeks. The decision in Eagle Grove followed suit with Belmond-Klemme’s decision to not have summer sports which was announced in May.
