Early Reports Say Homemade Device Caused Blast At FD Residence Tuesday

Early reports from the investigation into the Tuesday Evening blast that resulted in serious injuries, have found that the explosion was caused by a homemade device. The incident occurred Tuesday Evening at a residence on the 800 Block of South 16th St. Fort Dodge Police And Fire personnel were dispatched to the scene and found a man who had been injured significantly in the explosion. They also found that the blast broke a window in the basement of the home. The man was taken to Unity Point Fort Dodge and then was flown to Iowa University Hospital. The man’s identity has still not been released and there has been no word on if he has been charged or arrested as of this time. Early reports did rule out the possibility the blast was caused by any sort of drug manufacturing operation.  The incident remains under investigation, those with info regarding the incident are encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge PD or Webster County Crime Stoppers.
