EMS in Webster County Passes First of Three Steps in Becoming Essential Services

The first step in a process to make Emergency Medical Services essential in Webster County has passed.

Approval of the first step in a three step process was made during the Webster County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday morning.

Supervisor Mark Campbell explains where the process goes from this point forward.

“It would be a county-wide levy if possible,” Campbell said. “Today’s reading is the first step. We’ll establish a committee of people from all around the county and then they’ll bring back what they think the structure should look like and whether or not we move forward.”

Emergency Medical Services in rural locations have been supported by volunteers up until this point.

A county-wide vote on making Emergency Medical Services essential could happen as soon as this fall.
