While Jamar’s Restaurant here in Fort Dodge remains open this year will be the close of a Fort Dodge tradition. For opver 40 year, the car show at Ja-Mar’s has been part of the fabric of summertime. Due to the covid-19 pandemic this year’s show has been cancelled and owner Jerry Jordison says it’s the end of an era.
Prior to the covid-19 pandemic this year was slated as the final year of the show due to the construction project at Crossroads Mall. As the project will eliminate the open space adjacent to the restaurant that was used to display the cars. Jerry says even though the cancellation is disappointing he has some great memories of the event.
While the car show comes to a close the restaurant remains open so at least one of the two Fort Dodge institutions Jordison is responsible for remains.
