Expert witness testimony was heard and closing arguments were made Monday in the murder trial of Joshua Pendelton. Monday’s proceedings centered around the testimony of expert witnesses concerning Pendelton’s mental health.
The defense had an expert witness testify that evaluated Pendelton in November 2019. He testified that he felt Pendelton was not of sound mind the night he attacked and killed Rev. Al Henderson. The defense also called a Dr. from the Oakdale Facility that evaluated Pendelton in early 2020. That Dr. testified to Pendelton’s being erratic and inconsistent with sane behavior.
The prosecution had their own expert witness in the form of a psychiatrist. He testified that he felt, Pendelton understood his actions when he killed Henderson.
The Jury is deliberating in the case before returning a verdict.
