For The 2nd Straight Year Dodger Softball Will Play For “The Big Gold Trophy”

Fort Dodge Softball is set to play for “the big gold trophy” for the second consecutive season.

The Dodger downed Waukee 8-3 in the State Semifinals on Wednesday night. The Dodgers came out on fire, putting up a four spot in the 1st. They would get three of those on this play.

The Dodger got four more in the second. Mariah Myers had an RBI single, Maia Davis was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Chloe Wertz beat out an infield hit that scored Doster from 3rd and Martyne Lowrey who came all the way around from 2nd. Dodgers led 8-0 after two innings.

Waukee would get on the board with one run in the 3rd and they added two in the 5th. That would be as close as they would get. Jalen Adams went the distance in the circle for her 23rd win of the season.

Coach Andi Adams says her team is on a mission to capture that title, they have been chasing together for years now.

The Dodgers will meet a familiar foe in CIML rival Ankeny Centennial Friday night in the State Finals. You can hear the game, a 7:30 PM 1st pitch on “Sunny” 99.7 and here on our website.
