A former local sheriff has pleaded guilty to multiple charges that stem from an incident earlier this year. Scott Anderson the former Sheriff of Calhoun County has pleaded guilty to charges of domestic assault and interference with official acts. Anderson reached a plea deal with the Calhoun County Attorney’s Office and was given a fine, a suspended jail sentence, informal probation and a fine of just $65. Anderson also has been ordered to go through a program for domestic assault perpetrators. The charges stem from an incident on April 11th in which Police say Anderson was being physically abusive towards his wife, resisted arrest and head butted a Manson Police Officer. A petition to remove Anderson from office was filed and granted shortly there after. Anderson was part of another controversy as well, as a former Calhoun County dispatched filed and then later settled a lawsuit with Calhoun County that stemmed from sexual harassment and other allegations against Anderson.
