Fort Dodge Baseball Triumphs In Tuesday Trio Of Games At Marshalltown

To win two games in one day is something all baseball coaches want, but Coach Blake Utley’s squad got the rare three wins in one day .The Dodgers took all three on the road at rival Marshalltown on Tuesday.

The first game was the resumption of a game that was postponed due to lightning in Fort Dodge,a few weeks ago. The Dodgers were up 12-0 in the second when that game was called. They resumed that game and cruised to a 15-0 lead. Carson Peterson had two homers and drove in 6 runs. Jace Ulrich drove in two and Eli Elsbecker had two hits.

In game two the Dodgers downed the Bobcats 13-4. Christian Davidson knocked in three, Ulrich and Elsbecker both had two RBI’s each as well.

In the finale, Tristin Bockoven and Conner Carver both had three hits each. Carver drove in four and “Bock” knocked in two. The Dodgers crud 15-2.

Drake Callon, Carson Peterson and Alex Underwood got wins on the hill.

With the trio of triumphs, Fort Dodge moves to one game under .500 on the season.

The Dodgers playoff bracket was released on Wednesday. Fort Dodge will travel to square off with rival Mason City on Friday July 16th. That game will air on 99.7 and here on our website with 1st pitch scheduled at 7 PM.
