Fort Dodge City Manager On Next Steps In Broadband Process

Fort Dodge City Manager David Fierke was a guest on “Devine Intervention” with Mike Devine on KVFD AM 1400. Fierke spoke primarily about the steps in the process of the city’s exploration of creating a municipal broadband utility. The question of broadband passed by a vast majority in the November 5th general city election. Fierke says the next step is too conduct the feasibility study.

Fierke went on to say that after the feasibility study is completed then the city would begin to explore partnerships with firms and providers.

The question of economic feasibility and how much a municipal broadband system will cost should be able to be determined through those steps Fierke outlined.
