Choice for FDCSD Assistant Superintendent Rescinded Following Backlash From Parents
There was a change in plans during last night’s Fort Dodge Community School District Board meeting where a person who was supposed to be approved for a new position in the district was removed from consideration.
The district’s new superintendent Josh Porter who begins the role officially in July announced that Doctor Craig Doster would not be joining the district. Porter says after additional reflection and feedback, dr. Doster will no longer be joining the team and his recommendation for hire will not be on the board agenda.”
Last week, an announcement was made that Dr. Doster would become the new assistant superintendent for the district. Following that announcement, some concern was raised by area parents who found what they considered unfavorable news reports in other communities where Dr. Doster had been employed in previous positions.
Doctor Doster was narrowed down from a field of candidates by a firm hired to help the district select the new hire.
Porter states that plans moving forward are being evaluated.
