Fort Dodge Couple Charged with First Degree Murder in Drowning Death of Newborn Daughter

Her body has not been found yet, but her name was Kayleen Lee Blaha and her parents have been arrested and charged in her murder.

The search continues today in Fort Dodge for the remains of a dead newborn. According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, just before 5pm Wednesday Taylor Blaha and Brandon Thoma were arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. Both held on a 1-million dollar cash only bond. Thoma faces an addition charge of Abuse of a Corpse. They are being held in the Webster County Jail. The search for the child’s body has stretched from downtown Fort Dodge, the Des Moines River and in and around the Fort Dodge landfill.
