Fort Dodge Event Raises Money, Gifts and Holiday Spirits

Over 200 children in the Webster County area will have a present under their Christmas trees thanks to an event this weekend in Fort Dodge.

According to Elijah Smith the Power of Music event for Community Christmas was a big success.

Smith says he wanted to help Charles Clayton with the Community Christmas to help kids who may otherwise fall through the cracks.

“I grew up in poverty so I know what it feels like. Whether it’s needing school clothes, food to eat, whether it’s needing Christmas toys or a turkey for Thanksgiving or just a way to school, I know how that feels.”

Smith, a musician with the Tank Anthony Band says The Power of Music event raised over $2,500

in donations and around 3,000 in toy donations.
