Fort Dodge Football Coach Nik Moser On Homecoming Loss To Sioux City East

Coach Nik Moser joined Rob Jones on the Hy-Vee Fort Dodge Coaches Corner Saturday Morning on “Sunny” 99.7. The Dodgers fell on homecoming to Sioux City East 20-6 in the return match between the two teams. It was the 1st time ever in Fort Dodge Football history they have played the same team twice in the same regular season. The offense for Fort Dodge struggled gaining just 48 yards total in the 1st half and just 5 first downs the entire game. Despite the struggles the Dodgers had a chance late in the game. LB James Daniel intercepted a pass and returned it deep in Sioux City East territory in the 4th quarter. The Dodgers scored on the next play when Coach Moser went to the bag of tricks and called a WR pass from Brad Vodraska to QB Carson Peterson that went for 31 yards. The Dodger defense which turned in another solid effort got a stop and forced a punt. However the Dodgers would have two miscues on the punt (one a roughing the punter the other not being able to make the catch on the punt). Sioux City East got it back declining the penalty and getting the fumble on the return miscue. The Black Raiders then scored on the short field to ice the game. Coach Moser talked about the week 6 loss and he put the responsibility on himself for the lackluster performance. That conversation is below.
