A valiant effort by the Fort Dodge Girls came up just short at Sioux City East 63-53. The Regional Semifinal game aired on “92 Rock” and here on our website, Saturday Night. The Dodgers started strong and opened the game on an 11-2 run. They would lead 17-12 after the 1st. Sioux City East would settle in for the 2nd quarter. They outscored the Dodgers 15-8 in that frame to lead 27-25 at the half. The 3rd quarter was more of the same asw East had 18-10 advantage in that quarter. They got a 35 foot heave at the 3rd quarter buzzer from Kayla Benson to lead 45-35 after 3. The Dodgers would battle in the 4th quarter and cut the lead to single digits a couple of times, but never could get closer. Aleaha Pommer had a team high 19 for Fort Dodge, it was her straight game in double figures. Soph. Lainey Maehl had 9 off the bench. Tory Bennett struggled some with her shooting but had a strong overall game, she finished with 7 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. The Dodgers finish their season at 8-10 witha playoff win, and won 5 of their final 6 games.
