Fort Dodge Girls Roll Sioux City North In Playoff Opener

The Fort Dodge Girls opened their playoff journey on Tuesday night in impressive fashion 80-32. North would come to play early and the game was tied at 17 after the 1st. The Dodgers would explode for 36 points in the 2nd quarter. They closed the 1st half on a 27-4 run to take a 53-27 halftime lead after this play.

Tory Bennett beats the halftime buzzer, that was 3 of her game high 19. Bennett had a tremendous all around performance. She had 9 boards, was a terror on defense getting 7 steals and causing even more turnovers than that by playing the passing lane. Her passing triggered the Fort Dodge transition game offensively, as she dished out 7 assists. Aleaha Pommer added 15, it’s the 8th straight game in double figures for her. Ellie White had a season high 10. Dodgers got solid efforts off the bench from Lainey Maehl and Paytene Hively as well they combined for 16 points.

Dodgers forced 25 turnovers for the 5th straight game, which has keyed this 5 game win streak. Wednesday’s win is the 1st playoff win under 3rd year Head Coach Scott Messerly.
