Fort Dodge Students Spend Valentines with Care Center Residents

Love is in the air, and if you need a reminder as to why.. It’s because Valentine’s Day is Tuesday.

One group of students at the Fort Dodge Senior High School are well aware of what day it is and have plans to spend a little time during Valentine’s Day spoiling some residents who live in area care facilities.

Fort Dodge Senior High School Teacher Andi Adams says her advanced leadership class was looking for a service project to do and they decided on Valentines.

Adams says the students are all doing this on their own. From the planning to the execution, they will be serving desserts, making Valentines and performing for the residents.

Adams says the two days they plan to spend with the residents is just apart of the bigger picture

“It’s a great class,” she said. “It teaches them how to be a leader and how to serve their community and give back.”

The students will be spending some time today at Bickford Cottages and Valentine’s Day at Friendship Haven.
