The Fort Dodge Police were involved in a vehicle pursuit Thursday morning of a suspected stolen vehicle. Officers received info from Sac County that 35 year old Fort Dodge resident Matthew James Johnson was likely driving the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle near South 22nd St and 14th Ave. South here in Fort Dodge. The suspect fled in the vehicle once he saw the officers. The chase went through the city limits and into the county as the Webster County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol joined the pursuit. The chase ended just south of Barnum, around 9 AM Thursday Johnson was arrested. During the pursuit Johnson allegedly attempted to strike officers. Johnson is charged with Eluding, Assault on a peace officer, theft or possession of stolen property, driving while barred, and multiple traffic violations.
