Fort Dodge Man Arrested Following String of Burglaries in Webster County
Webster County Detectives have arrested a Fort Dodge man wanted for back to back burglaries after finding stolen property and illegal narcotics during a search warrant at a home in Stratford.
44 year old Michael Ackerson was taken into custody after a full scale investigation by members of the Webster County Sherriff’s Office, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Division of Narcotic Enforcement, US Marshals’ North Iowa Fugitive Task Force and Department of Criminal Investigations.
According to a press release from the Webster County Sherriff’s Office,
Ackerson, has been charged with
– Violation of Supervised Release
– Felony Escape from Custody
Back on January 11th, a Webster County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence near Brushy
Creek for a burglary that occurred. The property owner reported that several items taken from within the residence including
jewelry and firearms.
Two days later a deputy was dispatched to a different residence in the same area for another burglary where firearms were stolen.
Through the course of the investigation deputies and detectives with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office
followed up on several leads which tied the burglaries to a residence in Stratford, Iowa.
Ackerson is currently being held by the US Marshals with no bond.
This investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
