Fort Dodge Man Arrested Friday For Arson

On Friday Afternoon 43 year old Fort Dodge Resident Joseph Robert Schossow was arrested and charged with one  count of 1st degree Arson. The Fort Dodge Police and Fire Department responded shortly after 12 PM Friday to a call that a mattress had been set on fire. The incident occured at 927 Central Ave. Apartment 303. Upon arrival, officers found that the mattress was still smoldering but had been extinguished before further damage could occur. That led officers to investigate and they believe that Schossow intentionally set fire to the mattress.
