Fort Dodge Man Arrested Without Incident After Three Hour Standoff

This afternoon at approximately 2:30 P.M., the Webster County Telecommunications Center received information on the location of a possible wanted subject. The information provided indicated the individual may be in the area of 536 South 22nd Street in Fort Dodge. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to the area.
When officers arrived, they encountered a male matching the description of the wanted subject. Officers were able to confirm it was the male with outstanding warrants. As they approached the male, he retreated into 536 South 22nd Street locking the door. Officers then began communicating with the male, but he refused to exit.
Other officers arrived on scene and began communicating with the male. Officers conversed with the male for approximately three (3) hours before he surrendered without incident shortly before 6:30 P.M. The male, identified as 31‐year‐old Fort Dodge resident, Michael Euchner, was taken into custody on the following outstanding warrants without incident;
∙ Violation of the Sex Offender Registry – 2nd or Subsequent Offense (D Felony) ∙ Violation of Parole (No Bond Warrant)
Mr. Euchner is scheduled to make his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court tomorrow morning at 9:00 A.M. As with all cases, Mr. Euchner is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted on scene the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Fort Dodge Fire Department, and the Webster County Attorney’s Office.
