Fort Dodge Man To Use Self-Defense Claim On Charges Stemming From Fatal Shooting

23 year old, Darrell Jones of Fort Dodge is one of five men charged in a fatal shooting in June of 2020. That shooting incident left two people dead and two others injured. Jones plans to claim self defense in his court proceedings. A lawyer for Jones has made the court aware of his clients intentions to do so. In the June shooting, two men were killed 25 year old Jamael Cox and 47 year old Tyrone Cunningham, two women were injured. One of those women was the fiance of Darrell Jones. He is charged with two counts of second degree murder and one count of possession by a felon. Trial in the case is set to begin in May.
