Fort Dodge Murder Suspect Arrested In South Georgia

A man wanted for murder here in Webster County has been captured in South Georgia. 19 year old Fort Dodge resident Damion Lamont Chavez has been taken into custody by law enforcement in Lowndes County Georgia just north of the Florida state line. A traffic stop was made on a vehicle believed to be transporting Chavez On Interstate 75. Chavez will remain in custody in Georgia awaiting extradition back to Iowa. Arrest Warrants were issued over the weekend for Chavez on charges of 1st Degree Murder and 1st Degree Robbery. Those warrants stemmed from the Friday night shooting here in Fort Dodge that resulted in the death of Mohammed Yaqoub of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
