This Friday, October 2, Fort Dodge Senior High will be holding their annual Homecoming Parade in
Downtown Fort Dodge. While the parade will still be observed on Central Ave as in year’s past, the
staging area has changed from previous parade events. This effort was made to allow parades to be
held along Central Ave, while also considering traffic flow for non‐parade goers, emergency vehicles and
daily vehicle traffic. Fort Dodge PD issued this statement on the traffic closures associated with Friday’s Parade, that statement is below.
Staging area – 900 and 1000 block of 2nd Avenue South
This stretch of road will be closed to all traffic beginning at 3:00 P.M. until the start of
the parade (approximately 4:00 P.M.)

The parade is anticipated to begin at approximately 4:00 P.M. – 4:15 P.M. and last 30 – 40 minutes.
Upon completion of the parade, all roads will be opened to regular traffic. Please be aware of the
increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the area at that time. Please use alternative routes if passing
