Fort Dodge Police Investigate Wednesday Night Shooting

Fort Dodge Police have released further details in regards to a shooting incident last night.

According to the press release, last night at around 6:00 P.M., the Webster County Telecommunications Center received multiple calls of a shooting in the 800 Block of South 22nd St. Information provided at the time indicated that one person had been shot.

When Officers arrived on scene, they located a 24‐year‐old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Fort Dodge Fire Rescue quickly arrived on scene and transported him to the hospital and he was ultimately life flighted to Des Moines. The injury sustained by the male is not believed to be life threatening.

Upon further investigation from the patrol officers of the Fort Dodge Police Department, officers located witnesses in the area as well as physical evidence that was collected.

Based on the investigation it is believed that this is an isolated incident, and not a random act of violence.
