The Fort Dodge Community School District has changed the start of the academic school year again. The District announced Friday a decision to push the start of school back to September 8th. The District then announced Monday Night that school will now start August 25th. The District notified families of students of that change Monday Night. The message states that the decision announced Monday to move the start date up was influenced by errors in the reporting of data of Covid-19 cases. The Webster County Public Health Dept. notified the Fort Dodge Community School District of the testing errors and is working with the Iowa Dept. Of Public Health to formulate more accurate data. The errors in Covid-19 case data is reportedly attributed to errors in the coding of test results by a local clinic.
