Fort Dodge School District Names Finalists For Superintendent Position

The Fort Dodge Community School District has released their finalists for the position of Superintendent. The School Board met with search consultants on Thursday and interviewed 5 candidates as part of the screening process.  The Three finalists are scheduled to go through formal interviews on Wednesday, May 19th.

The three finalists are Dr. Derrick Joel, Tara Paul and Travis Fleshner.  Dr. Joel currently serves as the Superintendent for the Raymond Central School District in Nebraska, he has been in that role since 2017.

Tara Paul is the current Superintendent for the Estherville Lincoln Central Schools,a role she’s held for a decade.

Travis Fleshner serves in La Porte City, Iowa as Union Community School District’s Superintendent and has been for the last 5 years.

The search to fill the position was brought on by the hiring of Dr. Jesse Ulrich as the new President at Iowa Central. The new Superintendent is expected to start on July 1st.
