Fort Dodge Softball Hosts Regional Championship

Rob Jones – Fort Dodge: Fort Dodge Dodger softball is set to host Ankeny in the regional championship game on Tuesday night July 16^th. The Dodgers opened the playoffs with a 9-0 win over Sioux City East on Saturday. A game in which Freshmen pitcher Jalen Adams was superb on the mound. Adams threw a complete game shutout, allowing only just 1 hit and striking out 10. Adams retired 20 straight Sioux City East hitters after allowing a 1 out single in the 1^st inning. The Dodgers are hitting their stride at the right time as they come into the Regional Championship having 9 in a row and are 15-1 in their last 16 games. Ankeny comes into the Regional Championship off a pair of wins defeating Xavier 9-8 last Wednesday and Des Moines East 5-0 over the weekend. The Dodgers will be at home in Harlan Rogers Complex for a 7pm 1^st pitch. The game will be broadcasted on 92.1 FM The Eagle.
