Fort Dodge Softball Punches Ticket To State In Convincing Fashion

Fort Dodge Softball has punched their ticket to the 2021 State Softball Tournament. The 2nd ranked Dodgers cruised in the 5A Regional Finals, downing Sioux City East 16-4 in 4 innings.

Fort Dodge got two in the first and led 2-0 after one inning of play. They exploded in the 2nd inning, as they sent 12 hitters to the plate and scored 9 runs. That put Fort Dodge up 11-0 after two. Sioux City East fought back and pushed across four in the 3rd. In an inning in which, Jalen Adams finally looked “human” after being untouchable all season.  The Dodgers would get three in the 3rd, two of them on this play.

TK Doster builds on her career home run record with that blast, her 12th of the season. The Dodgers added 2 in the fourth to finish it 16-4.

TK Doster had 3 hits and 6 RBI’s after the game, the humble All State and future University Of Iowa Catcher directed the credit to her teammates.

The Dodgers pounded out 20 hits as a team. Jalen Adams, Tory Bennett and Maia Davis all had 3 hits. All 9 Dodgers starters had a hit, and 8 Dodgers had two or more hits.

The Dodgers punch their ticket to State for the 4th consecutive year and the 6th time in the last 7 years.
