Fort Dodge Softball Rolls Marshalltown Twice For Tenth Straight Mercy Rule Win

Fort Dodge Softball is rolling along, they have been an absolute juggernaut as the regular season winds down. The Dodger have won 12 straight, 10 of those coming by mercy rule which is a school record .Fort Dodge is a jaw dropping 26-1 in their last 27.

On Tuesday, FD swept a double header at rival Marshalltown 16-0 in 5 innings and 12-0 in four innings. Jalen Adams and Lucy Porter both got wins in the circle. Adams worked 5 innings of no hit ball and struck out 12. The 8th grader Porter has come on like “wildfire” this season and cemented herself in the pitching rotation. She remains unbeaten on the season, on Tuesday she threw 4 innings and scattered 3 hits.

TK Doster continues her hot streak at the plate she had three hits in the opener and drove in three, Tory Bennett and Sophia Klinger each had two hits.

Klinger would add three more hits in the night cap. Chloe Wertz, Adams, Bennett and Martyne Lowery all had two hits each.

8th grade phenom Mariah Myers drove in three bringing her season total to 54. She now needs just 5 more RBI’s to break the program’s single season record.

The Dodger have are set for their regular season finale Wednesday night as they host ADM. Fort Dodge will open the playoffs at Rogers Park on Saturday night at 7 PM. Because of a programming schedule conflict, the Saturday game will air on 92.1 FM and here on our website.
