Fort Dodge With Double Header Sweeps In Softball & Baseball Monday

Top ranked Fort Dodge Softball took care of business at Rogers Park Monday Night, sweeping Des Moines- Roosevelt in a double header 7-0 in game one and 11-1 in game two. In game one, Dodgers would jump out to 2-0 lead in the 1st thanks to this Loghen Schnetzer 2 run blast.

Schnetzer would hit a solo homer on the 2nd and the Dodgers would 6-0 after the 2nd. Jalen Adams went the distance in the circle, a complete game shutout scattering 3 hits while striking out 13. In Game two Dodgers would jump on Roosevelt early after 4 straight hits to open the game the Dodgers platted 4 and lead 4-0 after the 1st inning. Dodgers would tack on 2 in the 2nd and 5 more in the 4th. Haley Wills the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing just one run on four hits. LF Chloe Wertz 3 for 3 in game two. Dodger Softball takes on Carlisle on the road Tuesday night for a showdown of two #1 teams. As Carlisle is number 1 in class 4A, Carlisle looking to avenge a loss to Fort Dodge from last season, that game a 7 PM scheduled first pitch.

Dodger Baseball a home double header sweep over Roosevelt as well. Dodgers took game 15-13 and game two 13-8. In game one, Dodgers scored 10 in the 3rd innings thanks to Mason Bockoven’s two home runs in the same inning. Bockoven had a 3 run blast then a grand slam in the 3rd. He would add sa 3 run homer in game two as well. Bockoven set the school record with 12 RBI’s in two games.

Clear Lake topped Algona baseball 5-1, Algona managed just one hit in the game. Algona led 1-0 in the 6th, Clear Ake would get two in the 6th and three in the 7th to win 5-1.

St. Edmond Softball fell short 10-5 to Webster City. 19 hits on the night for Webster City they would score 5 in the 3rd to lead 5-1 after 3 innings. Webster City would add 3 in the 5th as well to take a 9-1 lead after the 5th. Gaels would rally late scoring 4 in the 7th but the late rally would fall short. Jocy Timmerman 2 for 2 with 2 doubles for the Gaels.
