A Fort Dodge woman is facing multiple drug charges in Greene County. Court records show that 27 year old Leigha Welch is charged with her 3rd or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance, she also is charged with unlawful possession of a prescription drug and drug paraphernalia. The charges occurred after Welch was stopped by a deputy in Greene County. During the traffic stop she admitted that she had smoked marijuana earlier in the day and her passenger Jennifer Kayse Jane Barkalow admitted there was a marijuana joint in the floor of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up controlled substances , drug paraphernalia, and a prescription drug. Welch has 3 previous drug convictions , one of them for meth possession. Barkalow was charged with her 1st offense for marijuana possession.
