Governor Reynolds: 27 Covid-19 Deaths In Iowa,  Small Business Recovery Efforts, Recommendation To Schools Coming In Near Future

At her Wednesday press conference Governor Reynolds announced 97 new covid-19 cases in and one new death in Iowa. That brings the statewide total of cases on Wednesday morning to 1,145 and 27 deaths. The Governor then talked about economic recovery efforts in Iowa.

She then announced an expansion in the Small Business Relief Grant Program.

The Governor turned things over to Debi Durham the Director Of The Iowa Economic Development Authority. Durham says that small businesses play a pivotal role in communities statewide.

The announcement was made Wednesday that Des Moines Public Schools will finish the school year through distance learning. The Governor says that her staff will assess the situation and make a recommendation in the near future to other districts around Iowa.
