Friday night Dec. 20th is the final game before the Christmas break for several area high schools. The Alpha Media family of stations has a full slate of games on Dec. 20th that all are available here on our website as well as over the air on their corresponding stations.

On “92 Rock” The Fort Dodge Dodgers are on the road taking on rival Marshalltown. The Dodger girls come into that one with some momentum after a win over Des Moines- Hoover Tuesday night 87-56. The Hoover game was the best offnesive output and performance off the year for the Dodger girls team. Sophomore Guard Tory Bennett set the single game scoring record for the modern era pouring in 37 in that one with classmate Aleaha Pommer adding 14.. They will try to build on that momentum and try to translate that offensive performance on the road. Coach Scott Messerly said the key to Tuesday’s offensive output was the transition game and decision making.

The Dodger boys fell vs Hoover at home Tuesday 33-29. Dodgers played really well defensively and showed a tremendous amount of determination in the losing effort. The Dodger boys have struggled offensively scoring less than 50 points in all but one game this year. They come into tonight looking to break a 6 game losing skid. Friday’s game a 6pm scheduled start for the girls pregame show with the boys to follow.

On “Snowy” 99.7 FM The St. Edmond Gaels are at home Friday hosting Clear Lake. The Gaels girls team is still looking for its 1st win of the season. The boys have been competitive in consecutive losses. They dropped Tuesday’s game to a ranked Algona squad 46-40. Prior to that they dropped a 54-50 decision on the road to Webster City. We will see tonight if the Gaels girls can get in the win column for the season and the boys can get back on the winning track by being able to finish in a close game. Friday’s St. Edmond game scheduled for a 6 PM start for the girls pregame show.

105-9 “The Beach” will have South Central Calhoun hosting Emmetsburg. SCC’s girls are coming off their 1st loss of the season in a girls only game Tuesday at Western Christian. Can they bounce back at home against a good Emmetsburg squad? The SCC boys come in to the Emmetsburg game off a loss to a quality Southeast Valley squad. A 6:15 PM scheduled start time for the girls pregame with the boys to follow.
