High School Basketball is in full swing around Central Iowa with many of the area teams playing as many as 3 or 4 games last week. This past Friday Dec. 6th saw a full plate of games from teams around the area. Friday night in games heard on 105-9 “The Beach” The South Central Calhoun Titans girls team kept their unbeaten season alive knocking off East Sac County on the road 50-35.  SCC would explode out of the halftime locker room to outscore East Sac 17-4 in the 3rd on the way to the win. The Titan Boys fell for the 1st time this year as they lost at East Sac County. SCC would get outscored 22-10 in the 2nd quarter. Zane Neubam had 27 points to led SCC , Brennan Holder had 13. East Sac County had 3 players that were in double figures and combined for 52 points. The Titans are back in action Monday night Dec. 9th hosting Manson NW Webster you can hear those games on your home for Titan Sports 105-9 “The Beach” starting with the girls pregame show scheduled for 6:15 PM.

On 92.1 The Fort Dodge Dodgers were in “double dip” action this weekend both on Friday and Saturday Dec. 7th. Friday was a road tilt at Ankeny. The Dodger Girls fell 57-36 as Ankeny came out strong offensively outscoring Fort Dodge 15-6 in the 1st quarter. The Dodgers were led by Tristin “TK” Doster with 8 points and 11 boards. The Fort Dodge boys fell at Ankeny as well 57-43. Ankeny Guard Jaxon Smith was hot in the early going scoring 9 in the 1st frame to give Ankeny a commanding 20-6 lead after the 1st. The Dodgers were led by Monterius Abrams-Altman with 10 points, Ankeny was led by Jaxon Smith with 16 and Jordan Kumm with 14. On Saturday The Dodgers were on the road again taking on Urbandale. The Dodger girls fell to the 7th ranked Jayhawks 64-37. The Dodgers had an ice cold start to the game going scoreless in the 1st quarter and were down 18-0 at the end of the 1st. Tori Bennett, Jalen Adama and Jebreauma Clark all had 8 points a piece. Jada Gyamfi led Urbandale with 16, Maya Gyamfi has 14. In the boys game, the Dodgers started strong taking a 13-8 lead after the 1st quarter and led 27-25 at the half. However, The Dodgers would run out of gas and succumb to fatigue in the 2nd half as it was their 4th game in 6 days. Urbandale opened the 2nd half on a 14-3 run on the way to outscoring Fort Dodge 20-7 in the 3rd. Dayson Clayton had a season high 11 to lead the Dodgers in scoring, Monterius Abrams-Altman had 8. Urbandale had 3 players in double figures.

St Edmond split a pair of games Friday night with Hampton-Dumont-Cal on “Snowy” 99.7. The St. Edmond girls fell 63-25. Hampton-Dumont-Cal came out on fire outscoring the Gaels 19-2 in the 1st quarter and built a commanding 43-8 lead at the half. The St. Edmond boys got a win 49-32. The Gaels led by just 2 at the half but exploded after the break to outscore Hampton-Dumont-Cal 19-2 in the 3rd quarter. Jerris Duncan came off the bench and led the Gaels in scoring with 15.
