The Alpha Media Fort Dodge stations have a full slate of high school hoops on the agenda for Tuesday Feb. 4th. The line up is below.
105.9 “The Beach” – South Central Calhoun hosting Southeast Valley. The South Central Calhoun girls look to bounce back from a lopsided loss to #1 Newell-Fonda on Friday. The Titan boys look to extend their win streak to 11 in a row and to get to 11 they would have to knock off a Jaguar team that was the last to beat them back on Dec. 16th. Brian Peters will have the call of those games starting at 5:45 PM with the girls pregame show.
“92 Rock” – Fort Dodge host Des Moines-North. The Dodger Girls got a road win Saturday over Waterloo East. The Dodger girls used a tremendous 2nd half outscoring their opponent 31-12 to propel them to the win 54-38. The win was their 5th of the season which represents progress for the program under Coach Scott Messerly in his 2nd year. The Dodger boys while they haven’t been able to get in the win column had probably their best week of the season last week. They were competitive is all 3 of last week’s games and were in 2 of them all the way to the final seconds. The youth movement has sparked the Dodgers as an example of that 3 of Friday night’s top 4 scorers vs Southeast Polk were 2 Sophomores and a Junior. JV call up Sophomores Carson Peterson and Drake Callon have contributed in a big way to provide help to Ty Kershaw and Dayson Clayton. Peterson had a career high 13 vs Southeast Polk. Join Rob Jones for all the action tonight a 6 PM start time for the girls pregame show with the boys to follow.
“Sunny” 99.7 – St. Edmond is on the road at Humboldt. The Gaels girls are still looking to get in the win column this season. The St. Edmond boys have lost 4 straight but 2 of those were in overtime games. Both St. Edmond teams look to avenge losses to Humboldt from back on January 3rd. Greg Woods will have the call a 6 PM start for the girls pregame and the boys after, as always all of our high school games are available here on our website.
