High School Softball Playoff Brackets Now Set

The IGHSAU released the playoff brackets for high school softball teams around Iowa on Thursday. The playoff journey will culminate with the State Tournament on July 19th-23rd. The State Softball Tournament will once again be held at Rogers Park in Fort Dodge.

In Class 1A, St. Edmond has earned a 1st round bye in Region 2. The Gaels will host a 2nd round game at Rogers park on July 7th at 7 PM. They will take on the winner of Ar-We-Va and West Bend-Mallard, those two play July 6th. Newell-Fonda is the #1 seed in Region 2. The top ranked Mustangs have home field advanatge in the 2nd round and would have it in the 3rd round. They have a 1st round bye and will host the winner of Bishop Garrigan and Glidden-Ralston July 7th at 7 Pm.

In 2A, Manson NW Webster is Lake Mills on July 6th. Belmond-Klemme travels to West Fork July 7th. Pocahontas Area hosts Alta-Aurelia on July 6th, South Central Calhoun hosts South Hamilton on July 7th. Eagle Grove is at South Hardin on July 7th and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows hosts Aplington-Parkersburg. All of those games are set for a 7 Pm 1st pitch.

Class 3A area teams all play on July 6th at 7 Pm. Algona is at Sheldon, Greene County at Saydel, SE Valley visits Roland-Story and Humboldt goes to Iowa Falls-Alden.

In 5A, Fort Dodge will host the Regional Semifinals on July 10th at 7 Pm. The Dodgers will get the winner of Sioux City North and Sioux City West. The site for the Regional Finals on July 13th has not yet been set, but the game time for it is 7 PM.
