HS Hoop Report: Dodger Boys and Titan Boys Conclude Their Seasons

Fort Dodge finished their season on Friday with a road playoff loss to Ankeny 66-46. The Dodger players and coaches honored assistant coach Willie Williams, with a patch and pins that read “WW”. Williams missed the game due to being hospitalized in Des Moines after having emergency surgery last Wednesday. A slow start really doomed the Dodgers as they trailed 14-4 after the 1st. Ankeny standout guard Braxton Bayless would pour in 19 1st half points and Ankeny took a 13 point lead into the break. The Hawks would keep pace in the 2nd half as well answering every Fort Dodge run in the 2nd half and outscoring the Dodgers 35-28 after the break. Bayless would finish with a game 26 and Jaxon Smith would add 16 for Ankeny. Dayson Clayton had 9 for Fort Dodge, Senior Ty Kershaw had a team high 17 in his last game in a Fort Dodge uniform, and classmate Brycen Bell had 9 on 3 made 3’s in his final Dodger appearance.

Over on 105-9 “The Beach” Saturday Night South Central Calhoun fell to West Sioux in the 2A Substate finals.
