You don’t typically associate Monday night’s with high school basketball, as Tuesday and Friday are the usual game nights. However, Monday saw various area teams in action. St. Edmond got a road sweep over Eagle Grove, Manson NW Webster’s Boys got their first win this season and SE Valley was swept by Roland-Story.
In games heard on “Sunny” 99.7 and on our website, St. Edmond got a road seep at Eagle Grove. The St. Edmond girls tallied their 2nd win of the season 51-45. Gaels led 17-15 at the half and led by as many as 13 late in the 3rd. Eagle Grove made a run in the 4th and cut the lead to 3 with 90 seconds left. Mya Mclain would seal it for St. Edmond with late free throws. Leah neverman led St. Edmond with a game high 19 and Mya Mclain had 11. Hannah Sampson and Lea Friedl both had a baker’s dozen for Eagle Grove.
The St. Edmond Boys used a 20-6 run to open the 2nd half after the game was tied at 17 following the 1st half. Gaels would pull away and win it 47-26. Three players in double figures for St. Edmond, Hayden Mayer with a game high 15, Drew Schaeffer and Jackson Palmer added 10. All of Plamer’s points came during the 3rd quarter run. Chase Mason led Eagle Grove with 11.
The Manson NW Webster Boys ame from behind to edge Paton-Churdan 58-57. It marks the first win for Coach Caleb Wubben’s club this season. The Manson NW Webster Girls fell 44-27.
SE Valley was swept by Roland- Story. The Southeast Valley girls fell 55-40. The Jag Boys fell 54-39. With the win, Roland-Story remains unbeaten on the season at 8-0.
