Hy-Vee Fort Dodge Coaches Corner With Rob Jones Returns To “Sunny” 99.7 This Saturday Morning

Since its inception in August 2019, “The Hy-Vee Fort Dodge Coaches Corner” on 99.7 FM and yourfortdodge.com, has been the premiere platform for high school sports in North Central Iowa. The show runs during the fall, winter and summer sports seasons. The show was running weekly through the basketball and wrestling seasons, but has been on hiatus since. “Coaches Corner” is back this Saturday May 22nd at 9AM on “Sunny” 99.7 and yourfortdodge.com,  for the season preview edition for baseball and softball.

The show will take place live on location from the Market Grille area at Hy-Vee of Fort Dodge. Everyone is welcome to come out in person to Hy-Vee and enjoy the atmosphere. Rob Jones has served as the Host and Executive Producer for the show since it launched and Brock Freeman serves in the Associate Producer role. Rob said ” I am excited to relaunch the show. I always say that on Saturday mornings during any sports season, Hy-Vee is the place to be. It really is, the atmosphere is always welcoming and has a positive energy to it. I can’t wait to be back in the place to be this Saturday. I can’t thank Hy-Vee Fort Dodge enough for their continued partnership and support. Tim, Mike and their entire staff are 1st class. They provide an incredible host venue, great food and incredible service to all involved. The Market Grille is the unparalleled standard for what a food service program & venue should be in the grocery world”.

Baseball and Softball season will open up next week around the area. Alpha Media Sports will have coverage starting May 24th with the 2020 State Runner Ups, Fort Dodge Softball in action. Rob will have the call on “Sunny” 99.7 Monday starting at 5 PM for the double header. Rob said ” The Coaches Corner show this Saturday May 22nd will serve as great opportunity to lead into our broadcast schedule which starts Monday the 24th”.

Fort Dodge Baseball and Softball along with St. Edmond Baseball and Softball will play all summer long on “Sunny 99.7″. The Coaches Corner provides not only lead in and background for those teams, but also a platform for other area coaches and their teams.  Rob says” since the inception of the show we have extended the invite to all area high school coaches who are in season to come out and be on the program. We have had a great response from coaches around the area not just here in Fort Dodge.  Coaches from Manson NW Webster, Southeast Valley, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Humboldt, Pocahontas, East Sac County, West Hancock, OABCIG and many others have made regular appearances since 2019″.

The show has grown and expanded since its inception. It started with a one hour format but has the freedom to go longer if Rob sees fit. Most of the episodes in the 12-18 months have went two hours. ” It shows how much the listening audience and the coaches have supported this show. I always say the listeners are the body of the vehicle, the coaches are the motor and I am just the steering wheel to point it in the direction. I am so appreciative of the listening audience that is in tune to this show, they have made it appointment listening.  To all the listeners, if we hadn’t met in person feel free to come by any Saturday morning I am out there and introduce yourself. I always enjoy meeting our listeners and talking about the local sports scene with them. You can’t beat the breakfast menu Hy-Vee has and you couple that with the experience of the coaches show and you got a winning combination” Rob said.

For those that can’t make it in person to Hy-Vee, tune in each Saturday starting at 9AM on “Sunny” 99.7. Also, you can look here on our website in the days following each episode and find the individual conversations with coaches from the show .
